Cold, reliability and other mountain lessons

A half-hearted night in the roof tent.

Despite the heatwave suffocating the plains, at an altitude of 1,300 meters, a sleeping bag remains essential.

I hadn't taken it. Result: a bad cold, and a useful reminder of the simple laws of cold air and clear nights.

And as if a little cold wasn't enough...

💥 The front rack mount also broke this time.

Less violently than the first time, but just enough to sow doubt: can we really leave peacefully if the tent is resting on a fragile point?

Fortunately, Street & Mud in Geneva were there again.

They proposed the only real solid solution: replace the gallery entirely.

Result :

✔️ A sturdy, utilitarian gallery, a little less pretty, although... that little Mad Max look isn't unpleasant!

But above all: reliable, reinforced, and the peace of mind of nights without creaking under your head.

Meanwhile, Jimny is in the hands of the mechanic, for 2-3 final adjustments.

Objective: to get it ready to leave for the great Icelandic loop at the end of July.

A little more fever, a little more patience, and the journey is approaching.
