The tent keeps the heat in well, the sleeping bags do the job, but preparing meals remains a real challenge. Setting up the annex for protection requires cumbersome logistics for little profit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">The good news? Akureyri is on our route, and it&#039;s Iceland&#039;s second-largest city, with a population of around 19,000. Nicknamed the \u201cGarden of the North,\u201d it boasts picturesque fjords, cozy cafes, a small, pedestrianized town center, and a famous Art Deco-style church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">So we opted for a welcome technical break: a night at the campsite, access to a communal kitchen, heated tables, and the opportunity to do some welcome laundry.
